Sometimes bad things happen to us, and we ask, "Why?" We ask, "What have I done to deserve this hardship, this obstacle, this pain? Why are the Gods against me?"
Its important to remember that the difficulty we are facing, or the painful experience that we are asked to endure could either be a karmic experience that our soul is requiring for balancing, or an important lesson that we are learning in order to strengthen us for the future. You and you alone are responsible for creating the reality that you live today. Thats why we are given free will. We must understand that one year of our lives is simply a single page in the story of the journey that our spirit and soul is on through this life and the next.
There is a reason for everything that happens in life, but many times we only experience the emotions and feelings which come to us as a result of that experience. Nothing that happens to us is because God or Spirit punishes us. Spirit manifests only love, and knowing only love, the universe would not punish us and want to see us suffer, just like a parent and a child. Sometimes the lessons that we experience in this life can be painful. The sorrow and heartache of losing someone close to you through death, is painful today, but that will be all erased when you meet again. To be exposed to economic hardship in this lifetime, struggling to make ends meet is hard as well as humbling. In the future, the generosity that you may have in sharing with others, the skills that may have honed today in order to be financially secure, being willing to help others who are searching for a helping hand, all of these are manifestations of the pain you have experienced earlier, when you felt lost, and were struggling to meet demands during that time.
You must look upon every experience you have, as being a part of the growth of your spirit and soul. Problems simply mean that you are alive. It would be unreasonable to expect to live a life in which you are always in bliss, and you are only exposed to happiness and joy, never to sadness or hardship. It does not make a difference who your hero or heroine is, it would be almost impossible for them to reach that point of attainment where they have people's love and respect and not have experienced great hardships along the way. Nelson Mandela spent 27 years in prison before he was released in order to unite the people in South Africa. Mother Teresa lived her life in total poverty in order to help others, so that she may also experience her special journey. Mohatma Ghandi also spent time in prison as well as eventually was assassinated. But it was through their hardships and challenges that they developed their strength and character and were eventually able to make major impacts on others throughout the world.
This is why it is important for you to recognize that pain is a natural experience for all of us. What is important is how you react to those hardships. You must treat the experience for what it is, a challenge and an opportunity for growth. You are just as responsible for the things that happen to you as you in how you react to them.
Understand and share. Right now, it is likely you know others that are going through personal hardships in their lives. Share your truth with them. Help them understand that this is just one moment in time. 90% of what we worry about never happens. But what we continue to give our attention to will manifest. We are not humans who by coincidence have a spirit and soul; we are a spirit with a soul who is having a human experience.
Sharing: that is what our lives are about.
