CEDAR: Cedar has anti-fungal, anti-infectious, antiseptic, and astringent and diuretic properties, is an insect repellent and can be used as a sedative. The Egyptians used cedar in mummification and the ancients used it for cosmetics and to prevent attack by insects. The wood of the cedar tree was also the only type of wood used for their coffins. The Native Americans used cedar for respiratory infections when excess catarrh is a problem. Cedar can be used in inhalation therapy for bronchitis. It is used for urinary track infections, most often when pain or discomfort are present. Cedar is said to help gonorrhea and kidney infections when used in baths. In New Mexico, Indians use cedar for skin rashes. For dandruff, mix with rosemary and eucalyptus diluted in vegetable oil. Cedar is used in aromatherapy to alleviate fear and to calm, soften anger and aggression. It also strengthens the nervous system. It is comforting and warming. Cedar should not be taken orally in a high dose, or during pregnancy. Cedar was used traditionally by the North American Indians to enhance their potential for spiritual communication. It creates the symbolic effect of the umbrella protecting the earth and bringing in energy from the universe. At night the animals in the wild lie down under the tree for protection, recharging and rejuvenating. It blends will with eucalyptus and rosewood.
SPRUCE: Is an anti-infectious, anti-inflammatory, anti-spasmodic, cortisone-like, disinfectant and tonic. It grounds the body and creates the feeling of balance necessary to give and to receive. It helps one release emotional blocks. Spruce is beneficial for arthritis, bone pain, the glandular system, hyper-thyroidism, aching joints, the nervous system, the prostate, the respiratory system, rheumatism, sciatica pain, balancing the solar plexus, and stimulating the thymus and adrenal glands. It blends well with birch, eucalyptus and frankincense.
SANDALWOOD: Is an anti-depressant, antiseptic, aphrodisiac, astringent, sedative and tonic. Sandalwood is very similar to frankincense in action. It may support the cardiovascular system, remove negative programming from cells, and relieve symptoms associated with Lumbago. It may also be beneficial for acne, chronic bronchitis, catarrh, coughs, diarrhea, hiccoughs, impotence, the lymphatic system, meditation, menstrual problems, nervous tension, increasing oxygen around the pineal and pituitary glands, skin infections and regeneration, tuberculosis. It blends well with cypress, frankincense, lemon myrrh, ylang ylang, patchouli and spruce.
ROSEWOOD: Is an anti-fungal, anti-bacterial, anti-infectious and anti-parasitic. This oil may create skin elasticity and is soothing to the skin. It is recognized for its ability to get rid of candida of the skin and to slow the aging process. It may also be used for cuts, nausea, oral infections, tissue regeneration, vaginitis, and wounds. It creates a feeling of peace and gentleness. Rosewood has a warm, woody fragrance. It is a good tonic for the autonomic nervous system and may help relieve tiredness, nervousness and stress.
FRANKINCENSE: Is an anti-catarrh, anti-depressant, antiseptic, anti-tumoral, expectorant, immune-stimulant and sedative. Frankincense is considered a holy oil in the Middle East. It was used in ancient times for improving communication with the creator. This oil may be used for aging, allergies, asthma, bites, bronchitis, cancer, carbuncles, catarrh, colds, coughs, depression, diarrhea, diphtheria, gonorrhea, headaches, hemorrhaging, herpes, high blood pressure, inflammation, jaundice, laryngitis, meningitis, nervous conditions, pneumonia, respiratory problems, preventing scarring, sciatic pain, sores, tonsillitis, typhoid, ulcers, wounds, and warts. It oxygenates the pineal and pituitary. It can help one have a better attitude, which may help strengthen the immune system. It increases spiritual awareness and meditation.
CINNAMON: Is anti-bacterial, anti-depressant, anti-fungal, anti-infectious, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, anti-parasitic, anti-spasmodic, anti-viral, astringent, immune-stimulant, purifier and sexual stimulant. Cinnamon is beneficial for the circulation, colds, coughs, digestion, exhaustion, flu, infections, rheumatism, topical infections, typhoid, vaginitis and warts. The oil fights viral and infectious diseases. It has been found that viruses, bacteria and fungus cannot live in this oil. It blends with all citrus oils, cypress, frankincense, geranium, juniper, lavender, rosemary, and all spice oils. Use caution, as it will irritate the nasal membranes if inhaled directly from the diffuser. It is traditionally thought to have a frequency that attracted wealth.
